About blaze-trek
Shaping financially confident young people across Belfast since 2019
Our Story Began with a Simple Question
Why do schools teach algebra but not budgeting? This question sparked everything. We noticed that young people were entering adulthood without understanding how to manage their first paycheque, open a savings account, or avoid common financial pitfalls.
Founded in Belfast, blaze-trek emerged from a desire to bridge this gap. Our founders, a team of educators and financial professionals, designed programmes that make money concepts accessible, engaging, and genuinely useful for everyday life.
Today, we work with families across Northern Ireland, transforming how children and teenagers think about earning, saving, and spending wisely.
Start Your Child's JourneyWhat Guides Our Work
Three principles shape every workshop, lesson, and conversation we have with young learners.
Learning Through Doing
Abstract concepts stick when paired with real activities. Children in our programmes handle play money, create mock budgets, and simulate financial decisions in safe environments before facing them for real.
No Judgement Zone
Money carries emotional weight. We create spaces where asking questions feels safe, where mistakes are learning opportunities, and where every family's financial situation is respected without assumption.
Building Lifelong Habits
One workshop alone will not create lasting change. Our approach includes take-home activities, family discussion guides, and ongoing support to reinforce what children learn during sessions.

How We Developed Our Curriculum
Research-Based Foundation
We studied child development psychology, existing financial literacy frameworks, and successful international programmes before designing our own.
Pilot Programme Testing
Before launching publicly, we ran pilot workshops with local families. Their feedback shaped everything from activity timing to language choices.
Continuous Improvement
We review and update our materials annually based on participant feedback, economic changes, and new educational research findings.
Local Relevance
Examples reference Northern Irish banks, local shops, and situations familiar to Belfast families. This relevance increases engagement and retention.
